What are some best practices for making mobile-friendly e-commerce videos?
Asked 2 years ago
I work in marketing, and my company has decided to promote a client's e-commerce business on mobile, as we've concluded that their target audience uses phones more than any other type of device. We want to do so via videos, so we need them to be mobile-friendly.
Could you perhaps share some practices for creating compelling e-commerce videos that would be easy to watch on the phone?

When making videos that are designed for mobile you need to remember that viewers will be watching it on a small screen. This means that you will want to be very clear with what you are showing, move slowly, and use close-ups with a lot of detail instead of wide-angle shots with many objects.
Apart from that you will want to incorporate subtitles as many people keep their mobile sound off, make the video sharable, grab the viewer's attention in the first few seconds, and keep the video short (ideally under 1 minute).
Lastly, remember to stay consistent with your branding. Viewers will begin to recognize it and build a relationship with your style.
