Can I improve my customer retention by using shoppable videos?

My business partner and I are updating our marketing strategy to keep up with the latest trends and establish ways in which we can incorporate these into our online retail store. We are aiming to improve our strategy for customer retention purposes. I am a bit on the fence about using a shoppable video as a means to retain customers. I don’t get how this is any different than a normal marketing video on our landing page and social media channels.
